My research program consists on the fundamental investigation of phenomena at the surface and interface of nanomaterials for energy-based applications in area of Condensed Matter Physics and Physical Chemistry. Research areas include synthesis, characterization, processing and nanofabrication. My instructional program draws three major perspectives that are devoted to teaching, outreach, and research. I support the concept that push thinking out of the box and I am committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. I am open to be contacted about job opportunities.

Biography

After completing my Master's degree in "Condensed matter and surface physics" at "Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, I pursue a Ph.D. degree at "Ecole Centrale de Lyon", France under the supervision of Dr. Genevieve Grenet, director of research at CNRS, and Prof. Jose Penuelas. I obtained my Ph.D. in Materials Science with the highest honors in 2013. I investigated the physical and chemical properties of interfaces by photoemission in heterostructures for electronic and optoelectronic applications. In 2014, I joined CEA-LETI in Grenoble, France, as a postdoctoral researcher, where I worked on the cleaning, doping and patterning of graphene (2D materials) by low-energy plasma. The electronic and chemical properties were characterized by various surface techniques, including photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM). From February 2017 until June 2020, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Hemminger research group at the University of California, Irvine in USA. I investigated different catalytic mechanisms on nanostructured surface using AP-XPS (near ambient pressure XPS) combined with other imaging tools, including Liquid Cell-TEM.
